에그 템페라기법으로 작품에 촉감각을 선사하는 모제 아세프자는 에너지 넘치는 풍부한 곡선과 강렬하고 감각적인 색채가 특징적이다. 창을 통해 바라보는 듯한 풍경을 특유의 굽이치는 선으로 표현하는데, 이는 작가의 뿌리인 페르시아 캘리그래피 예술뿐만 아니라 동아시아 서예 예술에서 영감을 받았다. 이란에서 태어났지만 유년 시절 가족 전체가 독일로 이민을 가며 동서양의 문화적 유산을 동시에 간직한 작가는 독일 뮌헨 미술대학에서 회화를 전공한 뒤, 독일을 비롯, 프랑스, 영국 등 유럽과 아시아에서 활발한 전시를 이어가고 있다. 독일 뮌헨 현대미술관을 비롯해 세계 최대 청기사파 소장처인 뮌헨 렌바흐 하우스 뮤지엄, 스위스 바젤 국제은행, 중국 광둥 미술관 등 세계 각국의 주요 기관에서 작품을 소장하고 있다.
Mozhdeh Assefjah, who employs the egg tempera technique to create a tactile quality in her works, is known for her dynamic, flowing curves and bold, sensuous colors. She expresses landscapes as if viewed through a window, using her signature undulating lines—a style inspired by both Persian calligraphy, reflecting her cultural roots, and East Asian calligraphic traditions. Born in Iran, Assefjah moved to Germany with her family at a young age, embracing both Eastern and Western cultural heritages. She studied painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich and has since exhibited extensively across Europe and Asia, including Germany, France, and the UK. Her works are part of prestigious collections in major institutions worldwide, such as the Museum of Modern Art in Munich , the Lenbachhaus Municipal Gallery—home to the world’s largest Blue Rider collection—, the Guangdong Museum of Art in China, and the Bank for International Settlements (BIS) in Basel, Switzerland.

나의 회화는 눈이 창을 통해 바라보듯이, 향수를 불러일으키는 공간으로 초대한다. 시선은 화면을 탐색하고, 마음은 그리워하는 것을 인식한다. 나는 전통적인 달걀 템페라 기법을 사용하여 깊이감 있는 색조, 매트한 질감, 그리고 정교한 윤곽선을 가진 형태를 만들어내며, 이를 통해 다양한 깊이를 표현한다. 이러한 공간은 불투명함과 투명함, 가까움과 거리감의 변증법적 관계 속에서 형성되며, 층층이 쌓이는 레이어를 통해 깊이가 구축된다.
자유로운 제스처는 넓은 리본 형태로 표현된다.
이번 전시를 위해 선정된 작품들은 화려하게 피어나는 꽃들, 풍요로운 초원, 흐르는 물의 찰나를 포착하면서도, 광활한 지평선과 정교하고 유려한 장식 요소들을 함께 담고 있다. 부스 중앙에 배치된 톤도(Tondo)는 건축적 요소를 강조하며, 작은 부조(reliefs) 작품들은 회화 작업을 보완하는 역할을 한다. 이 부조들은 회화 속에서 등장하는 개별적인 요소들을 독립적인 형식으로 보여준다.
나의 작업에서는 페르시아 서예와 미니어처 회화, 동아시아 및 오리엔탈 예술의 영향이 르네상스 회화 전통 속 로브 연구(robe studies)의 시각적 경험과 융합되며, 초문화적인(transcultural) 시각 언어를 형성한다. 이는 문화적 경계를 넘어서는 여정을 의미한다.
나는 추상과 구상의 경계를 넘나드는 꿈속 풍경의 이야기를 전하고 싶다.
내 작품은 상상과 현실 사이의 유동적인 경계를 탐구하는 시각적이고 시적인 표현이다.
오늘날 디지털 시대에는 환영(illusion)들이 넘쳐나지만, 나는 구체적이고 감각적인 경험을 제공하고, 촉각적으로 느낄 수 있는 아름다움을 선사하고자 한다.

The Nighingale´s Song
My paintings invite the eye to peer through a window into a nostalgic space where the eye sees and the mind perceives what it longs for. Using the traditional egg tempera technique, I create rich hues, a matte texture and shapes with precise outlines that allow me to achieve varying depths. The spaces are built by the dialectic between opacity and transparency, proximity and distance, putting layers over layers to construct the depth.
The free gesture manifests itself through wide ribbons.
The selected paintings for the booth captures the splendor of blossoms, lush meadows and flowing waters while revealing vast horizons and intricate, sweeping ornaments.
A tondo in the middle of the stand emphasizes the architectural features. The selection of small reliefs complements the painterly work. They refer to individual elements that occur in the painting and act here independently.
In my works, influences from Persian calligraphy and miniature painting, East Asian and Oriental art merge with the visual experiences of robe studies of Renaissance painting traditions to create a transcultural visual language - a journey that transcends cultural boundaries.
I like to tell stories of dreamed landscapes between abstraction and figuration.
The works are a visual-poetic exploration of the fluid boundaries between imagination and reality.
In today's digital age, where illusions abound, I want to offer concrete, sensual invitations to a tangible sensory experience and touchable beauty.

나에게 각각의 작품은 하나의 비전이자 풍경이고 뷰다. 마치 열려 있는 창문을 통해 그리운 장소를 보는 것과 같다.
나는 전통적 에그 템페라 기법을 고수한다. 이탈리아 르네상스 예술에 대한 나의 기술적, 이론적 관심이 고대 페르시아 예술의 신비로운 아름다움과 함께 표출된다.
자유로운 붓의 제스츄얼이 스스로 거대한 리본 형태를 만들어 낸다. 그 리본들은 때로는 어둡고 때로는 밝게 그 빛깔을 자아낸다. 춤을 추는 듯한 붓의 스트로크는 페르시아 전통 캘리그라피를 연상시키기도 한다. 관객들은 내 작품을 통해 식물 혹은 꽃을 연상시키는데, 카펫 장식이나 바로크 시대 직물에서 보는 패턴들과 닮았다.
여러 겹으로 겹쳐진 풍경들이 깊이감을 더하며, 투명하면서 동시에 불투명하게, 가까우면서도 멀게 그 모습을 드러낸다. 나는 내 작품을 통해 추상과 구상을 오가는, 마치 꿈을 꾸는 듯한 풍경들에 관한 이야기를 하고 싶다.

Each painting is to me a vision, a scene, a view. They are an invitation for the eye to look through a window opened to a nostalgic space.
I use the traditional egg-temepera medium. My interest for the Italian Renaissance, be it technical and theoretical, is infused with the mystical beauty of the visual productions of Ancient Persia. The free gesture inscribes itself through wide ribbons that vary between dark and light colours. The flexibility of the movements and the strokes calls to mind Persian calligraphy. The spectator might sometimes see vegetal , floral, plant forms, which are quite visible in bold floral pattern of early carpet design and othertimes might see baroque drapery.
The spaces are built by the dialectic between opacity and transparency, closeness and distance, putting layers over layers to construct the depth. I would like to tell stories of dreamed landscpes between abstraction and figuration.
