Gallery Joeun opened in January 2016 on UN Village Road in Hannam-dong and moved to its current location in Itaewon in September 2020. Under the motto of "Art Can Change Your Life," the gallery has continued to discover young and fresh artists while organizing many exhibition programs and participating in various art fairs abroad to introduce these promising artists to art lovers worldwide.

The gallery is the first commercial gallery to represent Kwon Min-Ho, who has worked mainly in art museums, and the previously unknown Japanese artist Maiko Kobayashi, now in demand worldwide. Kobayashi was introduced through exhibition programs curated by the gallery. German-based artists Mojé Assefjah and Sung Yeon-Hwa, who continue their original work, also collaborate exclusively with the gallery.

In particular, Yoon Sang-Yoon, who is known for his unique left-handed work, Jeong Seong-Joon, who is intensely concerned with the environment, Seo Sang-Ik, who tells stories of daily life, and Chae Ji-min, who brings a new perspective to painting with his flatness and three-dimensionality, are now at the center of Korean art collaborate with the gallery.

Gallery Joeun will continue to support and discover artists who focus on their work with outstanding artistic language and sincerity in the rapidly changing domestic and foreign art market. We will also do our best to promote the excellence of Korean art through leading art fairs and exhibitions abroad.

갤러리조은은 2016년 1월 한남동 유엔빌리지 길에 첫 문을 열고, 2020년 9월 현재의 이태원으로 확장, 이전하였습니다. ‘예술이 당신의 삶을 바꿀 수 있다’라는 슬로건으로 개관 이래 쉼 없이 젊고 참신한 작가를 발굴하여 전시 기획과 해외 여러 아트페어 참가, 국내외 미술애호가들에게 소개하며 오늘에 이르렀습니다.

무엇보다 미술관과 박물관 위주로 활동해 온 권민호 작가를 상업갤러리로서는 처음, 전속으로 영입하였고, 무명이었던 일본의 마이코 코바야시 Maiko Kobayashi 작가도 전속으로 맞이하면서 세계적인 작가의 반열에 오를 수 있도록, 전시프로그램과 기획전 등으로 지원을 아끼지 않았습니다. 독창적인 작업을 이어가는 독일의 모제 아세프자 Mojé Assefjah, 성연화 작가 등도 전속으로 활동하고 있습니다.

특히 왼손 드로잉으로 독특한 작업 세계를 이어가는 윤상윤, 환경이라는 묵직한 화두를 던진 정성준, 일상을 스토리텔링 하는 구상성이 강한 서상익, 평면성과 입체성으로 회화의 새로운 시각을 확장해 가는 채지민 작가 등을 국내외적으로 프로모션 한 결과 이제, 한국 미술의 중심에 우뚝 세우는 데 일조해 가고 있습니다.

앞으로도 갤러리조은은 급변하는 국내외 미술시장에서 탁월한 조형성과 성실함으로 작업에 매진하는 작가 발굴과 지원을 아끼지 않겠습니다. 굴지의 해외 아트페어와 기획전으로 한국미술의 우수성을 널리 알리는 데에도 최선을 다하겠습니다.
