스위스 취리히 출신의 가브리엘 그래슬 Gabrielle Graessle (b.1956)은 스페인, 프랑스, 독일 등지에서 활발히 전시를 이어오고 있다. 현재 스페인 남부 안달루시아 지방에 위치한 한적한 자연 속에서 작품 활동을 이어오고 있다.
거창한 주제가 아니라 일상의 소재들을 작가 특유의 직관적 조형 언어로 풀어내는데, 동물, 자연, 패션, 영화, 책, 어린 시절의 소박한 경험들이 가브리엘의 작품 안에서 때로는 화려하고, 때로는 키치하게 그 모습을 자유롭게 드러낸다.
Gabrielle Graessle was born in Zurich in 1956 and has exhibited in Spain, France, Germany and Asia. She currently lives and works in a disused natural hut in Albunol, Spain.
The artist has a unique, intimate artistic language that depicts everyday life rather than grand themes, and the simple experiences of animals, nature, fashion, movies, books, and childhood emerge freely in Gabrielle's sometimes colorful, sometimes kitschy works.
