오래된 것에 따스함이 있다고 생각하는 성연화(b.1986)는 한지를 이용해 평온한 풍경을 선사한다. 염료와 커피, 아크릴 그리고 파라핀을 먹힌 한지를 인센스를 이용해 잘라낸다. 그 후 캔버스에 다시 조각된 한지를 붙이며 성연화만의 추상 풍경을 완성한다. 수직 수평의 파편화된 한지 위로, 서예를 연상시키는 자유로운 필체가 조화로움과 긴장감을 이룬다. 하늘, 바다 그리고 대지를 연상시키는 자연의 색감들이 한지 위로 고요히 떠오른다. Sung Yeon-Hwa (b. 1986), who believes that old things have warmth, uses traditional Korean paper hanji to create a peaceful landscape. She dyes Korean paper with natural pigments, coffee and acrylic, and applies kerosene wax. Then these Korean papers are glued to the canvas to complete the abstract landscape. On the fragmented Korean paper in the vertical and horizontal, a free drawing reminiscent of calligraphy creates harmony and tension. The colors of nature, reminiscent of the sky, the sea, and the earth, rise silently on the hanji.
